If the battery is all it needs, looks like the dealer lied when they say they will have to reprogram the computer. If i buy a sport with manual locks and don’t want to carry the fob i can leave it hidden inside the vehicle with the fob battery removed.

I opened up my fob, removed and reinstalled the spring to reduce the tension on the key blade. Use the screwdriver to pry the key fob apart at the seam. Put the circuit board back in the keypad, then replace the keypad.
Now for my next question. Press the “lock” button on your key fob for one second while it’s still in the ignition cylinder. Discussion starter · #7 · apr 11, 2009 (edited) on my '08 fob, there are no screws anywhere and no place where you can put a flathead screw driver to open it up.
Take out the battery and swap it for a new cr2032 battery. Pop out old battery, pop in new battery, snap halves back together, reinsert key and enjoy.
